that’s a post on my site… I’ve tried advanced settings with a couple of different things but I’m not good at figuring out the .css.
I think the wrapper is #body-wrapper, but that doesn’t seem to work.
I have the plugin set to do an image as well as a bright red color so I can see if it is working
With #body-wrapper in the advanced settings I sometimes see the red color flash, but then nothing shows.January 7, 2015 at 12:17 am #6660supportsiteParticipant
Hi Mitch – You were on the right track… Since your theme has custom DOM elements, the correct DOM element for your theme is:
That will solve the issue. Currently, the background is there, but it’s behind all the other DOM elements such as your header and content areas.
Also, be sure to use a nice large / wide background as the test image you are currently using is quite narrow and when centered will show up behind your body content panels.January 7, 2015 at 6:37 am #6659
By the way, I can’t find the .psd sample in the .zip that you guys said is in there… is it in a special folder somewhere?January 7, 2015 at 8:30 am #6658
After having a look at your site I have determined that the correct DOM element is .content-section.
Also, the PSD template file is not within the plugin itself it is in a Dropbox folder.

That’s better thank you
However, in chrome, there’s some wonkiness going on with the image (maybe it is too large for a test?)
on the right side, after I scroll down the page and then come back up, there are problems with the image in the background, blocks appear.
Seems to work fine in safari and firefox
By the way, your marketing page says the .psd is in the .zipJanuary 7, 2015 at 9:14 am #6656
Thanks for mentioning that the Background Takeover’s description was misleading about the PSD file. We just fixed it :)
As for the issue with Chrome, it seems to be something with your website specifically. If you visit our demos page in Chrome you will see that everything is working just fine.
So, what I would do to combat this problem is deactivate all plugins except for Background Takeover. Once you do this check your site again in Chrome to see if everything is ok. If you are still having the same issue it is mostly likely a theme issue. If the problem is fixed then it is a plugin conflict. Now just reactivate each plugin one by one until the Background image does not work in Chrome. The last plugin you re-activated will be the one that is causing problems.
Let us know if this was too confusing or if you have any other questions.February 3, 2015 at 3:56 pm #6655
Hey Team! I’m baaaack
I finally got someone to pay me to try out the background takeover! Hurray and thanks!
Here’s the situation tho… I am still having trouble with 2 things…
first, if you go to my site’s home page, there’s no background takeover, it is only showing on posts… I’m assuming it is a DOM issue… you had me put in .content-section which is working for the blog posts… can I put in 2 DOMs?

post (pick any one): http://blog.planet5d.com/2015/01/back-up-your-hard-drives/
I’m also still having trouble with Chrome – I turned off all plugins except for 2 – yours and the adrotate ad manager (if I turn that off, the entire site fails to load due to embeds I had to put in the theme).
I plan to work with the theme developer to see if we can work on that aspect of the problems.February 3, 2015 at 4:02 pm #6654
It is good to know that everything is going well for you. Lets solve this problem with the Background Ads not showing up on your homepage first.
You can use two DOM elements and you just need to separate them with a comma. So in your case you can use #homepage-content-wrapper, .content-section.

Awesome – that did it for the home page. Thanks!February 3, 2015 at 4:45 pm #6652

No worries we will help you fix your problem, but first we will need a link to your site in order to determine what is wrong.February 9, 2015 at 8:29 pm #6648
I know that this may be a frustrating time, but we are unable to help you until we can look at your site. Once you send us a link to your site we will tell you how to fix the problem.February 18, 2015 at 8:47 am #6647
The ad does not show, though I have installed, and set up the plugin with an ad.February 18, 2015 at 9:52 am #6646
This is a simple fix so do not worry just follow the instructions below.
Go to your All Ads page then scroll down until you see a box labeled Advanced Settings. Open this box up and change the setting Main DOM Element for clickable area from body to #containerFebruary 18, 2015 at 5:38 pm #6645
hmm, I tried that, but still doesn’t seem to work :(February 18, 2015 at 5:58 pm #6644
I cannot find the Background Takeover’s files anywhere on your site. Are you sure your display settings are correct for it to display on your site? Please double check to make sure your start and end date settings make sense as well as your Display On setting.
If you are still having troubles you can make a private reply of your WordPress login credentials and we can have a look for you.February 19, 2015 at 6:53 am #6643
The display is set from the. 18.02.15 to 18.02.35, so that should be okay?February 19, 2015 at 9:18 am #6642
Yeah that should be just fine. Have you tried to deactivate all other plugins and then see if it works? Sometimes there is plugin conflict and that will cause some feature of plugins to not work.February 19, 2015 at 9:29 am #6641
I just tried, and it did not work either :(
